I agree with what people insist in this video. We can't think the first draft is good enough. There must be a lot of things that can be better. After watching this video, I understand writing is not just done by writing. To write good essay, we need not only just write, but also go over and think about how to make it better.
I missed important class for essay so I need to go over it and think about it by myself. but obviously there are still many points that i can make better, like structure, vocabulary, quotation or paraphrase.

After I read this article, I really agree with something and I doubt about few things. I agree with the problems that she explains in this article. Recently when we talk and keep using phone at the same time, our conversation is about very light topic and no one pay attention so much even though we feel it's not good. I feel we're obssesed by cell phone, we're addicted to cell phone and almost forget how to enjoy conversation.Cell phone is great human's invention. But our way of using cell phone doesn't make our "real connection" better. Therefore, we have to think about and solve these problems.
However, I'm wondering "Are we losing empathy? Have we ever expect world to work like app?" I understand our conversation is changing and becoming weird. But I feel we still can read others feeling, still have empathy. The example author uses in article says "She was almost robotic in her response. She couldn’t read the signals that the other student was hurt.” Does it happen because of only cell phone or technology? I'm still wondering. My sister, 15yrs old, also always use cell phone or laptop, but she's not robotic in her response and can read feeling, her friends, too. That's why I'm wondering if cell phone really can affect not only our conversation but also our humanity.
Summary of "Stop googling. Let's talk."
In the essay,"Stop googling.Let's talk" in new york times at September 26,2015, Sherry Turkle, professor in Science, Technology, and Society at MIT talk about how technology has changed our conversation and connection and about our resilence. Technology that she mentioned in this essay is especially cell phone. First, she explains how cell phone affect to our conversation. A 2015 study by the Pew research center shows that 82 percent of adults felt that the way they used their cell phone hurt the conversation. The author also says the mere precence of cell phone changes both what they talk about and the degree of connection they feel, even a silent phone disconnectes us. These a study and what author says means using cell phone and the presence of it hurt our conversation and connection. She also explains how technology affect to our empathy. According to her, the old conversation taught empathy. However, recently we don't allow that conversation to happen in the first place. Therefore, she think students understand each other less. The other issue of technology is that we fall to the way of thinking that we expect the world to respond like an app and work like algorithms.People whose attitude is like that seem to have lack of empathy.
However, we have not only problems but also solutions. She says we are resilent. There is experiment whose result is that people became able to read emotions and correctly identify emotions after five days without phones or tablets. We have resilence. The conversation can solve not only problem of empathy but also the way of thinking "algorithm". She states conversation is the antidote to the angorithmic. To conclude, we should admit the unitended consequences of the technologies, but also we can respect the resilence so we can recover from these problems.

I disagree with his opinions. Actually when I read sentence that author wrote he was sexism, I wonder "Then how can you talk about racism problem? first, you should think about your problem." Whether he tries not to seeing women as object and admit he is sexism and not innocence, he is still sexism. I also don't think white people should think they're racism like author admit he's sexism. Because I think white people's hidden racism that author said and his sexism are different kind of problem. White people's hidden racism that he mentioned is unconsciously involved with system whose a part can be racism. However, his sexism isn't problem that is accidentally involved with something. It occurs from his thought that women were inferior than men. I think just some of white people might be still racism but definitely not all white people. But not only some of white people are racism but also some of other color people have some discriminatory thought . Therefore, I think what he insist in Dear White America is extreme opinion.

Summary of "Dear White America"
In the essay, " Dear White America" in New York times at December 24,2015,George Yancy demand that we, especially white people, think about our hidden racism and know love and knowledge that can be solution to this problem. This racism is hidden from your comfort. Yancy said " As you reap comfort from being white, we suffer for being black and people of color" Because you are in comfort, realizing your hidden racism is difficult. Therefore, author suggest that we know and accept the knowledge that someone's comfort is linked to someone's pain even though this is hard to accept and taboo. The another reason why racism is hidden is part of racism is systemic. If you're white, you're benefiting from white privilege in the system that values black lives on the cheap. Then, even if you've never discriminate someone or work hard at not being racism, you still are because you're in this system. Therefore, there is another author's suggestion, love. He suggests a form of love that enables you to see the role that you play in that system. His suggestions, love and knowledge, will make people realize their hidden racism and know what their role is.

After reading
After reading strategies, I noticed I didn't read critically and analyze well. I think I read by almost intuitive. However, there are some strategies that I have already used, such as underlining, anotating, considering situation, and thinking about patterns. But I noticed I considered writer's purpose but I didn't consider "Who is the intended audience?" "What is gerne?" "What is the medium, How does it affect you the way you read?" My considering wasn't enough. Also when I read about "identifying patterns", I noticed my identifying wasn't enough. In my reading, when I found some words were repeated or found synonyms,I marked them. But in example on the textbook, the words are clasyfied to several groups, not only synonym or same words:such as group "life, death, and rebirth"= birth, reborn, "words that directly addresses the reader"= Consider~, Do not listen~. Therefore, I have to change my reading process more critically
A strategy that I was really interested in when I read those strategies is "Reflecting, Rereading, Persisting" I guess some people might think these are nothing new for our reading but I found especially peristance is very important for me. As I wrote in before reading, I sometimes give up after rereading several times if I still can't understand. This textbook says successful students see difficult texts as challenges" I'm going to keep working on this texts until I make sence of it" This is so different from my atittude for difficult reading.
From strategies on textbook, I noticed I didn't read critically and I have to be persistent for difficult texts. Strategies that I used are very shallow, not deep or profoud. Therefore, I have to study these strategies in detail.

Before reading
I like reading something that I am interested in but I'm reluctant to read something that I'm not interested in, usually it's academic long essays. I often read novels or some funny posts on Facebook for my pleasure and sometimes read academic essay to improve my english. When I start reading assingment, first, I play music that don't have lyrics and then, I just read all paragraphs. Whan I read whole paragraphs, I underline some sentences or write some sign on example sentences. When I am given reading assignment, I sometimes think about purpose of assignment because I think it can help me to think where I should read carefully. Also I sometimes think about what instructor want me to find in reading but I'm not sure if it is correct. I think I should ask that from next time. As I wrote on this page, I am really reluctant to read something I'm not interested in. Therefore, I have to think about how I can motivate myself to read that. Whenever I feel bored in reading, I spend a lot of time doing that and even when I finish reading, I still don't understand what essay want to say. I, however, still don't know how to motivate myself. When reading academic essays, I underline, annotate text, and write important points on tags.Thay help me to understand and review well. Also when I read essays that I'm not interested in, I sometimes really can't understand. Therefore,in order to understand well, I read again and again but when I still don't understand it, I give up reading and write something that I don't understand in reading and I will listen to class carefully. I think reading is very nice process to improve my english. It can improve my reading speed, vocabulary, and also grammar. But I think reading is the hardest things in studying English
